The Bone & Biscuit is a pet food store like no other. With its boutique feel, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a wide range of food, treats, supplements, toys and accessories for your dog and cat, The Bone & Biscuit is an experience as well as a store.
“My staff and I are extensively trained in pet nutrition so we can provide information and advice that will help you make the best choice for your pet,” says owner Laur’Lei Silzer. “In addition, we have a certified pet behaviour expert on staff who can answer your questions about training and dealing with your dog’s bad habits.”
The food choices at the Bone & Biscuit include raw, dehydrated, freeze-dried, canned and kibble, and is free of wheat, corn and soy. There are limited ingredient foods for those animals with sensitivities, and grain-free options in food and treats. And if your dog is having a birthday, there is a bakery stocked with fancy cookies as well as “pupcakes” — cupcakes made entirely of frozen meat.
Your pet is welcome to accompany you into the store. “We love it when people bring their pets with them. And it’s especially helpful if they are buying items like harnesses, or coats and boots so that we can ensure that the fit is correct.”
The Bone & Biscuit offers a loyalty program known as Biscuit Bucks. For every dollar spent (before taxes) the customer receives a point. When 500 points are earned, that translates into a 10 per cent discount off a future purchase. “We have double and triple point events to help our customers get to the reward faster,” Silzer adds. “For example, every Tuesday between 4 and 8 p.m. is ‘Yappy Hour’ where double points are earned on all dog purchases. Thursday is ‘Purrsday’ all day because we want cat lovers to know we want their business as well.”
The Bone & Biscuit is open seven days a week (except the occasional holiday).
